In conjunction with the Centre’s partnership with Contra Costa County and contribution to the development of the transit village concept, the Contra Costa Centre is responsible for developing and managing many programs to alleviate the single-occupant vehicle traffic to and from the transit village. Implementation

of the Contra Costa Centre Transportation Demand Management Program, including Carpool, Vanpool, Bart, Guaranteed Ride Home, and Bike-to-Work Programs and a Mid-Day Shuttle Service for over 6,000 area workers, has resulted in a 32% reduction in single occupancy vehicles commuting to the area.


 

he Centre has also established and maintains a
Child Care Affordability fund for Centre employees that provides monthly financial assistance to low and moderate income families to help offset child care costs.

In addition, the Centre provides for security with a
resident deputy whose office is located at the PMI Plaza Building and also manages maintenance of the extensive landscaping and public use areas within the Transit Village.
