The ultimate in worry-free commuting, the Guaranteed Ride Home Program provides a taxi or rental car voucher for the trip home in the event of illness, family emergency (such as a child who is hurt or ill at school), unscheduled overtime, break down of

a ridesharing vehicle or the driver has to leave early. If an employee uses a commute alternative mode (public transit, carpool, vanpool, bicycle, or walks) for their commute, they can utilize the Guaranteed Ride Home program.


 

he Guaranteed Ride Home program is an “insurance policy” against being stranded. Participants may utilize the services of the program up to six times in a calendar year with a limit of two times per month. This program is also sponsored by 511 Contra Costa. Participants are issued a taxi voucher or rental car voucher to keep on hand for when the unexpected commute situation arises.
